Well, after seeing the doc after surgery at the 2 week mark, I was told that there was a 25% chance of the uterine cancer coming back in some other cancerous form. I was "very young", her words, to have uterine cancer at 48 yrs. It usually hits in the mid 50's and older, hence the chance of it coming back.
So I've been in radiation treatments for 28 days, M-F. This coming week are my last three days.
It's been a very eventful time dealing with radiation sickness...the nausea and fatigue I could deal with, but the damned intestinal problems...bleh. I'll be very glad when my system is back to normal.
So that's what's been going on, why I've been quiet, not saying or drawing much.
May things have been and continue to be well for you all.
I had surgery on the 20th, and it went well. I'm on the other side and can say that I survived cancer.
The only thing that was unexpected was the size of the tumor, it had actually taken over more than 3/4 of the uterus and was the size of a 12 week old fetus. I also had a huge fiborid, the size of a large softball, on top of it. And the cancer was trying real hard to go walk-about in the rest of me, but didn't manage to. I'm clear.
I'm back home, a bit of pain from the incisions but meh. The only side effect is that my right arm, the drawing arm, is a bit off. There's a bit of pinched nerve numbness and I can't do fine motor control such as drawing. I can type, just spazzy, but drawing...dammit. But I do have plans to get things going soon.
Thank you for the well wishes and good thoughts. Take care, all!
